MEET OUR CHAIRPERSON & FOUNDER OF UMOU: MILLICENT TUHARAKAINA 

Equipped with years of experience and overwhelming passion to work with all Youths worldwide, Millie, also known as her nickname, brings power, passion and commitment to our phenomenal team.

She has worked for MiLife Victoria as a Team Leader in Disability Support Services,  organising program development and implementation.

​

From 2010 –2018, Millie Cofounded and worked as a Practitioner in R.E.F.O.C.U.S in which she specialised in Case management in targeted youth and disabilities services. 

 

In 2005-2004, Millie also Co-Founded S.M.A.R.T, which was an organisation that aimed at developing and implementing Public Youth events. This amazing young woman also organised fundraising events and facilitated youth dance events

 

Not only has Millie extensively given her time and effort to our Youth and Communities, from 2010-1996, she was the Legal Care Giver to many of her younger family members who were struggling and in need of support.

Millies experience comes equipped with appropriate qualifications, Diploma of Community Work – Skills Certified, Indigenous Triple P Accreditation, Adventure Based Trauma Training – Youth Flourish, Graeme Pringle, Introduction to Story Image Therapy Training- Toula Certificate in Community and Social Science, Level 4 – Waiariki Institute of Technology - Just to name a few,

Her role is pivotal in making sure our Team are always on the go, and is always a person we can count on. 

If there is one word that describes, Millie, it would be: "Empowering".
